NEW YEAR'S EVE EXTRAVAGANZA

WEDNESDAY, December 31 - IT"S NOT TOO EARLY !.........to be thinking about the AWESOME Pacific NW Regional SINGLE ADULT NEW YEAR'S EVE DANCE Dec 31st! It starts with Singles & families, fun night from 6pm to 8 pm (KIDS FREE) at the Federal Way Community Center. End the year rock wall climbing, playing basketball, volleyball, pool or working out! SINGLE ADULTS ONLY after 8pm until 2 am. Locker room & showers available to transform into glamor and glitz!. Dance from 9 pm to 1 am and then ....join old & new friends for a sensational New Years Day Breakfast from 12:30 am to 2 am @ The Federal WAY STAKE CENTER. ALL this fun, entertainment and food for only $15 (early registration) or $20 @ the Door. If you spend your New Year's Eve watching the count down on TV "STOP IT"! Start the New year surrounded with happiness, excitement, laughter, fun and new friends! REGISTRATION COMING SOON!

Dances:
Federal Way Dance--Friday 10/3 at 9 pm at the Anderson Barn (20245 SE 192nd St. Renton 98058)

Bellevue HALLOWEEN Dance--Friday 10/10 from 8:30 pm-12:00 am at the Bellevue South Stake Center (building behind the temple). This year the annual Halloween Dance will be held during the regularly scheduled Bellevue Dance (instead of the 4th Friday in Seattle). Costumes encouraged! Bring some halloween treats to share!

Swila Ball--Saturday 10/11 at the North Seattle Stake Center (5701 8th Ave NE Seattle). Dance instruction from 8:30-9:30 pm then dancing from 9:30-11:30--DJ'd music for partner dancing. Potluck treats. Open to all--singles and marrieds.

Everett Dance--Friday 10/17 at 8:30 pm the Everett Stake Center (9509 19th Ave SE Everett). Fourth Annual "Monster Mash" Halloween Dance. Make and take home a ghoulish Halloween decoration (i.e. pumpkin carving & decorating!). Costume contest too--prizes will be given. Remember, no masks or cross-dressing. Keep Church standards in mind please. Join us for good food, good music, good company & LOTS of dancing! Dancing starts at 9:30 pm.


Tacoma Dance--Friday 10/24 from 9-midnight at the Tacoma South Building  (2445 S. 78th St. Tacoma). Theme: "A Little Batty". Refreshments are potluck, so bring a favorite treat to share.

Arlington Dance--Friday 10/24 at the Arlington Stake Center (17222 43d Ave NE Arlington). Come and enjoy the atmosphere of Oktoberfest. The music, the dance, the games, the bratwurst and the sauerkraut....and don't forget the homemade root beer.

Olympia Dance--Friday 10/31 from 9 pm-Midnight. Olympia Stake center (600 Overhulse Rd. Olympia). Costume contest: LDS standards, no masks, no cross-dressing. Pumpkin contest: bring a pre-carved pumpkin. Dance contest to Alex Boye "Zombie". Refreshments are potluck so bring a favorite treat to share.

Firesides:

Saturday 10/11 from 7-8:30 pm at the Seattle North Stake Center (5701 8th Ave NE). Marivn Perkins, an African American member of the Church, author, producer, and recording artist, will present "Blacks in the Scriptures, an Eye-opening Journey through the Bible" at this community outreach event. Invite your friends and neighbors. All are welcome.

Sunday 10/12 at 7 pm at the Bellevue South Stake Center (building behind the temple). Marvin Perkins will discuss Blacks and race in the LDS Church (see above for his bio). 


Sunday 10/19 at 7pm at the North Seattle Stake Center (5701 8th Ave NE Seattle). Featuring Brother Gary London, Woodland Park Ward, Patriarch to the Seattle Washington North Stake: “Some Personal Reflections on the Office of Patriarch”. Brother London received his calling as Stake Patriarch in Dec. of 2012. This fireside will present a unique opportunity to learn more of the office of patriarch and, in particular, its effects on the lives of those who serve. All members and friends are invited to attend this fireside, sponsored by the Stake Single Adult Committee.

Other:

Special Needs Indoor Fun Fair--Saturday 10/11 from 1-4 pm at the Bellevue South Stake Center (bldg. behind the temple). Children with intellectual or developmental disabilities are invited to participate in small groups led by an adult volunteer for fun activities including games, sports skills, crafts, karaoke, and face painting. Contact ddskier@msn.com for info.  Sign up at http://ddskier.wix.com/ldsfunfair

Kitsap Annual SA Conference "Reliance"--Saturday 10/18 from 9:15 am - 11:30 pm at 9877 Mullenix Rd. Port Orchard, WA

Movie Night--Saturday 10/25 at 7 pm at the Regal Cinema 13 (3751 E. Valley Rd. Renton). Due to a scheduling conflict, the monthly game night has become a movie night in October.  A list of movies will be added to the Facebook events when they publish the schedule for the weekend. This activity may be child-friendly, depending on the movies. Admission is $3.50 per person.

Single Adult Mini Conference--Saturday 11/1 at 2 pm the Maple Valley Stake Building (26800 SE 236th St. Maple Valley, WA). Potluck Dinner and Game Night--Saturday 11/8 at 6 pm at the Lynnwood Stake Center. Bring a potluck dinner item and any games you'd like to play and join us for a fun evening! (Children are welcome with parental supervision).

Day Trip Temple Session to the Portland Temple – Saturday 11/8. We will be leaving Renton at 9:30 am traveling to Portland Temple for the 1:00pm session.  We will have dinner at Applebee’s, then head home.  Please contact Pamela Tseu Shinsato on Facebook if interested. 

Come Join Us for the Last SwiLa Ball of 2014-- Saturday 11/8 at the
Seattle North Stake Center (5701 8th Ave NE, Seattle). Spread the word! Invite your friends! As always, the lesson (Rumba) will go from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, and the dance from 9:30 to 11:30pm. And, as always, treats are potluck.  This month our teacher will be Heather Terpening.
